College of Alameda’s Dental Assisting Program consists of two consecutive semesters (Fall and Spring) of full-time study and will prepare you to obtain your Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) and Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) licensing.

Super Stars Literacy (SSL) provides extended learning time education services to under-performing K-2nd grade students, helping them develop the literacy and social skills that are the foundation for future learning. SSL provides targeted literacy intervention, including in-school instruction, extended learning and family engagement, to approximately 500 K-2nd graders at six high-need schools in Oakland.


Super Stars Literacy Group Leaders (GLs) GLs receive 250 hours per year of intensive training in classroom management and instruction to assist with Super Stars Literacy programming. GLs spend up to three hours per day in the students’ regular school-day classrooms, collaborating with teachers to provide one-on-one or small group reading support via the Leveled Literacy Instruction curriculum.


GLs also execute an extended learning program in groups of no more than 16 students each. Key daily activities include:
